SAFE Rideshare Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to all SAFE users, including Riders, Drivers (and Driver applicants), and to all SAFE platforms and services—our apps, websites, features, and other offerings (collectively, the “SAFE Platform”). By using SAFE, you agree to this policy and our Terms of Service.
We collect information directly from you, automatically through your use of the SAFE Platform, and from third-party sources.
Account Registration: When you sign up, we collect details like your name, email, phone number, date of birth, and payment details. Riders may also add profile photos, favorite addresses (e.g., home/work), and preferences.
Driver Information: Applicants provide their personal information, license details, vehicle documents, insurance, banking details, and (when required) permits or certifications. SAFE may verify identity through photos and official documents.
Emergency Contacts: Riders and Drivers may add SOS contacts. SAFE may request access to your phone’s contact list to enable this feature.
Feedback & Ratings: We collect and store reviews, ratings, and feedback you share about other users.
Communications: Any messages, calls, or support requests you send to SAFE.
Location Data:
Riders: SAFE collects precise location from app open to ride completion, including background location (with permissions enabled).
Drivers: SAFE collects location while online in driver mode, and briefly afterward for incident detection.
Ride & Usage Data: Trip details (pick-up, destination, route, time, distance, fare, and promo use). Interaction data with the app and website (pages visited, features used).
Device Data: Device model, IP address, OS version, browser type, carrier, identifiers, push notification tokens, and (for Drivers) motion sensor data (speed, acceleration, etc.).
Rider–Driver Communication: Calls and texts routed through third-party systems (to mask personal phone numbers). SAFE collects metadata (time, duration, participants) and may monitor or record for safety.
Cookies & Analytics: SAFE uses cookies, SDKs, pixels, and analytics tools to improve functionality, personalize ads, and secure the platform.
Background Checks & Compliance: Information from law enforcement databases, motor vehicle authorities, and background check providers.
Insurance & Financial Services: Information related to claims, payments, and fraud detection.
Enterprise & Concierge Partners: If you ride under a business account, employer, or via Concierge, those entities may provide your details and receive trip records.
Referral & Marketing Programs: If you are referred to SAFE, we may share referral-related information with the referrer.
Public or Legal Sources: Information provided by authorities, insurers, or third parties for investigations or disputes.
SAFE processes your personal data to:
Provide Services: Connect Riders and Drivers, verify accounts, calculate fares, and process payments.
Safety & Security: Verify identity, detect fraud, monitor driving behavior, investigate incidents, and enforce safety standards.
Community & Engagement: Deliver promotions, run loyalty programs, enable donations, and personalize advertising.
Customer Support: Assist with questions, complaints, and technical issues.
Platform Improvement: Conduct research, testing, and performance monitoring.
Legal Compliance: Respond to legal obligations, disputes, and enforcement requests.
SAFE does not sell your data. We share it in limited ways to operate the Platform:
Riders → Drivers: Rider’s first name, rating, profile photo, pickup location, destination, and preferences.
Drivers → Riders: Driver’s name, profile photo, rating, vehicle details (make, model, color, license plate), and live location.
Shared Rides: Riders in pooled rides may see each other’s name, profile photo, and route details.
Service providers (payments, background checks, analytics, marketing, cloud storage).
Insurance partners (for claims or incident handling).
Business partners (enterprise rides, loyalty programs).
We may share information to comply with law, respond to legal processes, enforce Terms, or prevent fraud, harm, or abuse.
If SAFE undergoes a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user information may be transferred.
SAFE retains user information as long as necessary to provide services and comply with legal obligations (e.g., tax and insurance requirements). We implement reasonable safeguards to protect data, though no system is 100% secure.
Access & Deletion: You may request access to or deletion of your data. Some legal or safety-related exceptions may apply.
Email & SMS: You can unsubscribe or opt out of promotional communications.
Location & Cookies: You may disable location services or adjust cookie settings, but some features may be limited.
Do Not Track: SAFE currently does not respond to Do Not Track signals.
SAFE does not allow use by children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
SAFE may contain links to external sites with their own privacy practices. SAFE is not responsible for these sites.
SAFE may update this Privacy Policy as services or laws change. Material changes will be communicated via the app, website, or email.
